<p>Disclosed herein is a deformation-resilient iris recognition method. The method includes the step of acquiring an image of an eye using a camera so as to acquire a registration or authentication image for verification of identity, the step of extracting a region of the iris from the image of the eye, the step of dividing the extracted iris region into a plurality of subregions and searching for iris characteristics of subregions, and the matching step of determining similarity between registration iris characteristics and authentication iris characteristics. The matching step uses a vibration method of comparing a subregion of registration image information and a registration vibration region, including the subregion and an expanded region of the subregion, with an authentication vibration region, including a corresponding subregion of authentication image information and an expanded region of the latter subregion.</p> |
