<p>Prior to working, tubular metal profiles are filled with a relatively incompressible metal or alloy of m.pt. 60-90 deg.C. Pref. the profile is filled with the molten metal or alloy, cooled to room temp., worked and reheated to melt the metal or alloy so that it can be removed. The method is useful in the bending, perforating, etc. of thin walled tubular metal profiles. Use of a metal or alloy filler, instead of e.g. sand, used in prior processes, eliminates faults in the worked prod. and, in the case of drilling, burrs and turnings are removed during removal of the metal or alloy.</p> |
