PURPOSE:To improve working efficiency and perform uniform tire molding with accuracy, by a method wherein a molding machine of radial tire is provided with mechanism for measuring circumferential length of a crown part before applying a breaker layer and a device for controlling the circumferential length by expansion pressure. CONSTITUTION:A green tire 1 is deformed in troidal shape by combining a carcass layer 2 with a bead wire 3 and a side wall 4 on a molding drum 5. A detecting roller 11 attached to a movable member 10 follows the rotation of tire outer circumferential surface and the radius variation is measured. Distance to the tire outer circumferential surface is measured by a displacement detector such as a differential transformer, thereby waveform signal corresponding to one round of the tire is obtained. The waveform signal is converted by A/D converter 10 into digital value which is entered in a computer 11 thereby the circumferential length of the tire is calculated. If the calculated value is beyond a prescribed range, an electromagnetic controller 12 controls an internal pressure filling electromagnetic valve 13 and an internal pressure releasing electromagnetic valve 14, thereby internal pressure of the tire 1 is adjusted and the circumferential length of the tire is set within a prescribed range. |
