PURPOSE:To simplify the production and to make the high-precise mass production possible by adhering spring alloy materials to both faces of a plastic substrate formed into gimbal-shape to form adhesion layers. CONSTITUTION:A plastic sheet is punched to jimbal-shape continuously to form a plastic substrate 1 which becomes the core material of a gimbals spring for magnetic head. A sheet consisting of polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS resin, or the like is used as the platic sheet. The thickness of the substrate 1 is defined as about 100mum. A stainless alloy, a spring steel Cr-Co alloy, or the like is adhered to both faces of the substrate 1 by the wet sputtering method such as electroless plating and electrolytic plating, the dry method such as vacuum vapor-deposition, or the like to form adhesion layers 2 and 2' with a prescribed thickness, thus producting a gimbals spring 2. It is desirable that the thickness of adhesion layers 2 and 2' is in a range of 50-100mum. A prescribed core head 4 is mounted on this gimbals spring to obtain a magnetic head A for the magnetic disc device. |
