Synergistic herbicide contg. 2-[1-(2,5-dimethylphenyl)-ethy1su1fonyl pyridine N-oxide(1) and 4-amino-6-tert-Bu-3-(methylthio)-1,2,4-triazin-5(4H)one(II) were described. Thus, an aq. suspension of I-II mixt.(1/2+1/8 Lb/acre) gave 70 and 100 % control of jimson weed and morning glory, resp., in green house expts. Application of either I or II alone gave very little or no weed control. Formulations contg.I and II are effective against many common monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous weeds.
