PURPOSE:A readily available pearlescent agent of glycol fatty acid ester is solubilized in molten state into a middle-phase liquid crystal of aqueous surface active agent to form a liquid crystal, then the crystal is cooled to collect platelet crystals and a high-concentration dispersion is made therefrom. CONSTITUTION:A pearlescent agent is heated up above the melting point, preferably up to 50-59 deg.C, and solubilized, preferably by 3-45wt% into an aqueous solution of a surface active agent which forms the middle phase such as a long- chain alkyl-benzenesulfonate salt in the solution so that more than half is in the state middle-phase liquid crystal. Then, the resultant dispersion is cooled, as the middle-phase liquid crystal is kept, to crystallize out the pearlescent agent and high-concentration pearlescent dispersion is produced therefrom. The resultant crystals are very thin in thickness and shows very good pearlescent effect. Further, its fluidity is low, because of its high concentration. USE:Shampoo, linse, lotion, cream, soap.
