PURPOSE:To prepare the titled compound easily, industrially, in hgh efficiency and selectivity, by reacting a specific alcohol using a homogeneous system catalyst such as ruthenium compound, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound is prepared by reacting the alcohol compound of formula[R<1>-R<3> are H, (substituted) alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, or hetero-ring residue]or reacting said alcohol compound with the compound of formula R<4>OH (R<4> has the same definition as R<1>), in the presence of a homogeneous system catalyst consisting of a ruthenium compound, a palladium compound or a rhodium compound. USE:A gamma- and delta-lactone can be also prepared easily by applying the process to a diol. |
