PURPOSE:To make the weight of the arm light by providing a shield member to a shield cover fitted to a frame of a device main body containing the entire carriage opposed to a magnetic head of the S1 side so as to eliminate the need for the shield member for the head arm. CONSTITUTION:In fitting the shield cover 20 made of a material such as a 'Permalloy(R)' to the frame of the floppy disk main body (not shown), a magnetic shield member 21 having a high shield effect to the head 10 being the same material as that for the cover 20 is imbedded to the cover opposite to the magnetic head 10 of the S1 side. Thus, the direct mount of the member 21 to the head 10 of the S1 side is not required, the tip of the head arm 12 is made light and the shock given onto the disk is reduced and the vibration proof of the carriage is improved. |
