The invention relates to an orthopaedic/dynamic sole for footwear with an upper part made of flexible material which starts from the edge of the sole and surrounds the foot of the wearer in an adapted manner from the heel as far as the forefoot, the sole being adapted to the force loads which are directly proportional to the tendency of the foot to deform itself. In order to stabilise the movement sequences, a part consisting of a flexible and resiliently compressible material is arranged in complementary manner and under the plantar surface of the foot, the plantar surface of this part having a support rib of increasing depth extending from the toe section of the sole as far as the outside of its heel region, which runs further around the circumference of the heel and forms a hollow or recess. The support rib merges with the toe section of the sole, without being recognisable as such there, and preferably follows a diagonal curved central line in the foot centre from the toe section as far as the outside.
