PURPOSE:To eliminate power loss during a turn-on moment and to avoid the application of excess voltage to a semiconductor at a moment of turn-off, by providing a flyback diode to the inductance which is switched by the semiconductor. CONSTITUTION:When a semiconductor Q1 and a semiconductor Q2 are turned on and off, respectively, the current flowing through the Q1 flows from a DC power supply E. In this case, the energy is stored at both a main inductance L1 and an auxiliary inductance L2. When the Q1 is turned off, a flyback diode D2 is turned on by the energy stored at the inductance L1 and L2. Thus the current flows to a load R and a smoothing capacitor C0. In this case, the voltage produced at the inductance L2 is applied to a flyback diode D3 in the form of an adverse bias. As a result, the diode D3 is turned off. Thus the power loss that is caused when the Q2 is turned on next can be prevented. |
