PURPOSE:To weld both metallic members without forming exposed parts for conduction of electricity on a hot-meltable insulation material in welding of a metallic plate material having said insulation material on one side and other metallic plate material, by using an auxiliary electrode other than welding electrodes which pressurize both plate materials. CONSTITUTION:A metallic plate material 10 provided with a hot-meltable insulation material 11 on one side and an another metallic plate material 13 are butted of the metallic surfaces to each other. Welding electrodes 12, 14 are brought into abutment on both surfaces of the material 11 on the material 10 and the material 13, and are pressurized. At the same time, an auxiliary electrode 16 is brought into contact with the material 10 or 13, and electricity is conducted between the same and the electrode 12 by means of a lead wire. Since this electric current flows to an electric power source by passing through the electrode 14, the parts pressurized by the electrodes 12, 14 are heated, and the material 11 in contact with the electrode 12 heats and melts so that the leading end of the electrode 12 abouts on the material 10 directly. Hence, large electric current flows to the electrode 12, the materials 10, 13 and the electrode 14, whereby both materials 10, 13 are welded perfectly. |
