NEW MATERIAL:A compound containing fluorine, and expressed by formulaI (Rf is 3-21C aliphatic group containing fluorine; R is H or 1-4C acyl; Q is <=21C aliphatic or aromatic group; n is 1-10). USE:A tension reducing agent for water or/and organic liquids, and useful for bubble extinguishing agents, additives, various penetrants and leveling agents for resin compounds. PROCESS:An epoxide containing fluorine expressed by formula II is reacted with a compound having at least one hydroxyl group in the presence of a catalyst, e.g. BF3 complex, and if necessary the reaction product is then acylated to give the aimed compound expressed by formulaI, e.g. the compound expressed by formula III.
