The object of the invention is to reduce, in a device of this type, the risk of a hydrogen explosion by storing and ducting the hydrogen in a different manner. To this end it is provided that the hydrogen be stored as a metal hydride (5) and that this be connected via a low-pressure line (15) to the demand points (16). In order to control the amount of hydrogen dispensed, the metal hydride (5) is provided with heating (6) and cooling elements (7).
