PURPOSE:To prevent a tape from damaging owing looseness of the tape, by limiting driving electric power so that a motor has less maximum generated torque when unloaded than when loaded. CONSTITUTION:A tape driver consists of a loading motor 1, a capstan motor 2, a cylinder motor coupled directly with a rotary cylinder 3. After a tape is loaded around the rotary cylinder 3 which has a fitted video head, the capstan motor 2 drives the capstan shaft to run the tape forward or backward. So that each motor has less minimum generated torque when unloaded than when loaded, the driving electric power is limited, thereby preventing the tape from damaging owing to looseness of the tape. |
