摘要 In the pyrolysis of oil shale, porous, brittle waste shale is formed in kerogen-rich shale particles owing to the decomposition of the kerogen which is present as a binder in the crude oil shale. By pulverising the formerly kerogen-rich, porous waste shale in a fluidised bed which operates with a gas surface velocity of 2.1 to 42 m/s, the porous material is comminuted so that it can be discharged with the waste gas. The remaining larger particles are based on shale having a low kerogen content and therefore do not have the large surface area and corresponding strong absorptivity which could adversely affect the yield in the pyrolysis. These coarser particles can therefore be used as effective heat media and can be transported back into the pyrolysis zone. <IMAGE>
