PURPOSE:To prevent performance deterioration after storage by press-molding a cathode added a specified amount of fluoroplastic powder in an alkaline battery. CONSTITUTION:A cathode black mix 2 comprising mainly a manganese dioxide active material M, a separator 4, an electrolyte absorvent material 5, and a gelled zinc anode 6 are accommodated into a cathode case 1, and it is sealed with a sealing plate 7 interposing an insulating ring 8 to form a button type alkalin battery. The cathode black mix 2 is prepared in such a way that a small amount of conductor such as carbon black powder C together with fluoroplastic powder F of 0.1-1wt% as an amount of solid to manganese oxide are added to manganese dioxide particles M, and then this mixture is press-molded. |
