PURPOSE:To reduce the shock at the time of clutch engagement, in the automatic speed changer provided with a kick starter of the engine, by improving one way clutch which connects the driven shaft, linked to the low speed transmission system, to the output shaft, linked to the high speed transmission system. CONSTITUTION:The low-speed transmission system consists of a first-gear-speed clutch weight 4, which is rotatably supported to the crankshaft 2; a clutch-outer 5; and a second-gear-speed clutch weight 9, which is rotatably supported to a carrier 8 of a planetary gear system 7 inside the clutch outer 5. On the other hand, the high-speed transmission system consists of a clutch-outer 15, and a third-gear-speed clutch weight 16, etc. The output shaft 18, linked to the latter transmission system, is connected to the driven shaft 23, linked to the low-speed transmission system, through a one-way clutch 28. Installed to the above clutch 28 is a retainer 27 which holds an intermediate element 26 that determines engaging or disengaging of the clutch 28. This retainer 27, in turn, is supported by a friction spring 29 which produces torque difference based on the direction of rotation relative to that of the output shaft 18. |
