In order to avoid the heat coalescence of coal which is transported to a day tank, situated on a height (11) adjacent to a furnace (10), via a scoop elevator (19) and, preferably, also a pre-transporter (16) of a band type; a preheated gas/suitable air is blown into the elevator (19), and where possible, at the delivery end of the transporter. The elevator (19) obviously has a larger transport capacity than that which is required for the day tank (11), and a retrieval device (31) at the elevator's delivery end is devised so that only a portion of the transported coal is accepted and the rest is allowed to fall to the bottom of the elevator in contra-flow with the warm air.<IMAGE> |
