The invention relates to cords and ropes for the most diverse technical and decorative purposes. The aim and object of the invention are to provide a ropeworks product of high strength, good grip and compact stitch structure and a highly productive process with versatile patterning possibilities. According to the invention, yarns (5-8) are tied into the stitch structure of the ropeworks product alternately or according to a pattern through the interior of the rope and preferably in opposite stitch rows. Additional effects can be achieved by a variation in the yarn material and in the yarn tension.
