PURPOSE:To obtain a simple and compact position detector by constituting the same so that the position of a movable member whose sphere of movement is fixed is detected by a single displacement member which makes displacement in connection with the movable member and by a single position detector. CONSTITUTION:A disc-shaped body 4 fixed to a rotating shaft 3 rotating in connection with the motion of the movable member 2 such as a robot arm and a gap sensor 5 are arranged. The disc-shaped body 4 is provided with four circular-arc parts 61-64 formed in such a manner that the radiuses r1-r4 become larger sequentially in the range of angles theta1-theta4 and these circular-arc parts are connected by straight parts 612-641 betwee them. When the disc-shaped body 4 rotates to make the straight part 612 opposed to the sensor 5, the output of the sensor 5 turns minimum, whereby the displacement of the movable member 2 to one limiting position is detected. In addition, by the straight part 634 the other limiting position is detected. By this constitution, the simple and compact position detector is obtained. |
