PURPOSE:To distinct patterns with the same character shape without complicated constitution, by taking the input range of manuscript for a certain type of pattern different from other types of pattern input range. CONSTITUTION:When sensor input terminals 11-19 are touched by a finger, the output from the terminals 11-19 is amplified at amplifying circuits 11A-19A and given to FFs 11B-19B directly or via a delay circuit 150 to form the input waveform. The output of the FFs 11B-19B is given to AND gates 41A-68A, and the output of the gates 41A-68A corresponding to constituents 41-68 of the side input of a sensor is sequentially inputted to a shift register 140 and compared with a memory 148 having the side input of character pattern with a bit comparison circuit 145 to discriminate the graphic form of input character. For example, in case of a figure pattern ''2'', side inputs 51, 54, 60 are given and in case of a character pattern ''Z'', side inputs 45, 51, 53, 66, 64, 60 are given to distinguish both of them. |
