POWER FEEDING UNIT FOR LINEAR MOTOR

PURPOSE:To realize a high reliability linear motor feeding unit by a method wherein driving coils and section switches corresponding to said coils are divided into a plurality of groups track-wise and second switching means are provided to connect a group to a corresponding feeder. CONSTITUTION:Driving coils LM1-LM42 exemplifiedly numbering 42 are arranged in sequence and section switches SW1-SW42 are provided for alternately connecting each of the driving coils to an electric power converter CC1 or CC2. The first switching means SW1-SW42 are not connected directly to feeders F1 and F2. The driving coils and the first switch means corresponding thereto are divided into seven group track-wise and each of the groups is taken care of by one of the seven groups of the second switching means SW201-SW214 located between the first switching means SW1-SW42 and the feeder F1 or F2. This provides a highly reliable electric power feeding system for a linear motor.
