PURPOSE:To enhance the loading properties of an ink ribbon, by a method wherein a label having a tab portion projected sideward thereof is detachably provided on a leader portion of the tip end of a ribbon body. CONSTITUTION:On the tip end of a ribbon body 1, a leader portion 3 coated with an adhesive on the inner surface thereof is provided and a loading label 5 is bonded by an adhesive on the outer surface thereof. When an ink ribbon A is loaded to an ink ribbon cartridge 6, a tab portion 4 of the label 5 is peeled from the side face of the ribbon body 1 to be projected on one side of the ribbon body 1, and the ink ribbon A is loaded to the ink ribbon cartridge 6 with the tab portion 4 disposed upwards. In this manner, an operator can known which one of two pins 7, 8 the ink ribbon A should be loaded. After loading the ink ribbon A to the pin 7 identified as a pay-out side pin with the tab portion 4 disposed upwards, the operator pays out the ribbon body 1 by holding the tab portion 4 so that it passes through guide rolls 9 from the tip end side thereof, finally bonding a leader portion 3 of the tip end of the ribbon body 1 to the take-up side pin 8. Therefore, the loading operability of the ink ribbon can be facilitated to a great extent. |
