<p>The syringe includes a cylinder into which a liq. is drawn when a piston (I) in the cylinder is retracted. Piston (I) is connected by its rod to a piston (II) in a double-acting jack operated by either hydraulic fluid or compressed air. Instead of compressed air, a disposable cartridge of the type used to make soda water with C02 may be used to operate the jack. The jack is pref. sealed in the body of a pipette in which the syringe is located; and an adjustable limit stop is pref. used to control the amt. of liq. drawn into the syringe. The syringe resembles a fountain-pen and has a low wt.</p> |
