PURPOSE:To contrive improvement of operating efficiency, reduction of operation cost, uniform quality of treatment and optimum retention of freshness for materials to be treated, by placing the materials to be treated on a conveyor, transferring the materials on the conveyor and treating the materials with ozone and cold salt water. CONSTITUTION:Materials to be treated, e.g. perishable food, etc., are placed on a conveyor 2 and transferred in a transferring part. One or two or more water tanks 4 and 5, containing cold salt water (S) therein, passing the conveyor 2 and treating the materials to be treated with the cold salt water are provided in a cold salt water treating part. Furthermore, ozone is fed into the above- mentioned cold salt water in an ozone feeding part 9. As a result, improvement of operating efficiency, reduction of operating cost, uniform quality of treatment and optimum retention of freshness for the materials to be treated can be contrived.
