A method and apparatus for parenteral administration of medical fluids, wherein a signal, delivered to a conventional tube clamp (28) to control fluid flow, is generated by drop rate selector (17) and control pulse-to-drop rate ratio selector (20) providing a variable rate signal from generator (16) whose pulses are modified in duration by circuits (12, 14, 23) responsive to drop sensor (10). The tube opening frequency may be either an integer or non-integer multiple of the desired drop flow rate and the ratio is varied inversely to the drop flow rate. |
