Control paper tape generator esp. for flame cutters - has digitising table and optical reading and sampling arrangement

An arrangement for generating control paper tapes for machine tools is esp. applicable to flame cutters. It enables a simple component description to be produced even for complicated component shapes using a computer into which are fed the geometric characteristic values of the component to be produced. A component template (15) is placed upon a digitising table (11) connected to the computer (10). The geometric shape and the dimensions of the template are sampled by a probe and lens (13,14) and entered directly into the computer. The computer also has an associated graphics display unit (12) which is used for monitoring and correction of the component input. The arrangement enables the component description to be encoded and converted into a control tape.
