<p>PURPOSE:To prepare the titled substance in high yield, by culturing microorganisms of Streptomyces genus which cannot proliferate in a medium containing inorganic sulfate as only sulfur source but can proliferate in a medium added with thiosulfate, cysteine and/or methionine. CONSTITUTION:Microorganisms which cannot proliferate in a medium containing inorganic sulfate as only sulfur source but can proliferate in the presence of a thiosulfate, cysteine and/or methionine, e.g. Streptomyces griseus subsp. psychrophilus K-4, K-101, SR-135, etc. obtained by the mutagenic treatment of Streptomyces sp. C-19393 (FERM-P No.4774) as parent strain, are cultured in a conventional medium by conventional process. The microbial cells are removed from the cultured liquid, and the filtrate is subjected to the conventional purification process such as chromatography, separation by solubility difference, etc. to obtain the objective antibiotic substance C-19393 H2.</p> |
