PURPOSE:To make usable the antenna as a mechanical scanning antenna, by fixing a switching beam to the front of antenna in a line having equivalent transmitted phase amount at reset of a phase shifter, if the phase shifter of an electronic scanning antenna of a driving circuit for the phase shifter is in failure. CONSTITUTION:Switch circuits 9a-9n are connected element antennas 1a-1n and lines 11a-11n and phase shifters 2a-2n are connected to other ends and the other ends are connected to switch circuits 10a-10n and a transmission/reception switch 5 switching a transmitter 6 and a receiver 7. The beam is electronically scanned with the phase control of the phase shifter 2a-2n corresponding to phase shifter driving circuits 3a-3n with a controller 4. If the failure of the phase shifters 2a-2n or the driving circuits 3a-3n is detected at failure detection output circuits 8a-8n, the switch circuits 9a-9n and 10a-10n are switched to lines 11a-11n, the beam is fixed to the front of antenna to prevent the change in the radiated pattern, allowing mechanical scanning of beam. |
