PURPOSE:To manufacture the titled head precisely and efficiently, by joining main constituent paets of the thin-film magnetic head in the same plane and at a time. CONSTITUTION:A case 1 is mounted on the reference surface 5-1 of a substrate 5 and its front part is pressed against a reference surface 5-3 to apply the parts adhesion surface of the case 1 with an adhesive; and then a head chip 2 and dummy glass 3, while aligned to a reference surface 5-2, are placed on the case 1. Then, the pin of a press rod 7 is pressed against the flank of the glass 3 through the hole 6 of the case 1, and the case 1 is pressed against a reference surface 10-1 to fix the rod 7 with a set screw 28; and a terminal plate 4 is mounted on the case 1 and while the case 1 and terminal plate 4 are pushed with a slider 8, the slider 8 and a stopper 11 are hooked mutually to be locked, thus obtaning an assembly unit. The substrate 5 of this assembly unit is fitted in the recess part 14-1 of the base 15 and after the chip 2, glass 3, terminal plate 4, and case 1 are pressed against the reference surface 5-1 with an intrusion blck 15 by lowering an upper plate 16, the adhesive is set by being heated. |
