PURPOSE:To fix heat insulator to a duct without hazzard to occur during processing in a short time and under nice finish by a method wherein after a duct is covered with the heat insulator, bar material is allowed to penetrate the heat insulator, the point of the bar material is welded into the duct and the bar material is bent. CONSTITUTION:The duct 1 is covered with the heat insulator 2 and preferably wire gauze 3 is wound on the duct. Then, after the duct 1 is grounded by conductor 7, the bar material 4 is allowed to penetrate the heat insulator 2 and the point of the bar material is brought into contact with the duct 1. Sequentially, the rear point of the bar material 4 is pinched by a clip 6 connected to a power source 5 and electrified to weld and fix the duct 1 and the point of the bar material 4. Finally, the projected part of the bar material 4 on the outside of the heat insulator 2 is bent on the wire gauze 3 and the heat insulator 2 is fixed to the duct 1. When the bar material 4 penetrates the heat insulator 2, a device used preferably includes a bar material rotating means 10 and a driving means 12 for it. |
