PURPOSE:To enable height adjustment with simple constitution by connecting a resilient member to the sides of wheels and applying a bending stress in a vertical direction to a position off the resilient member connection with a non-inflatable tubular body filled with a compressive fluid, and deforming said member in a vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:A fluid such as a gas is filled into the tubular body 32 of a load means 31 restricted in vertical motion with a beam 22 monolithic with a car body 9, and the internal pressure of the body 32 is increased. As a result, an upward bending stress works between the supporting points 'B' and 'B' of a leaf-spring hanger 11 at the side of the car body 9, and the intermediate part of the leaf-spring hanger 11 is lifted. Therefore, supporting points 'A' and 'A' at the sides of wheels are pressed down with the points 'B' and 'B' supported, thereby causing an increase in height. On the contrary, the height is reduced when the internal pressure of the tubular body 22 is lowered. According to the aforesaid constitution, it becomes possible to adopt a snubber as a shock absorber proper without any use of a coil spring for height adjustment and to maintain suspension performance even at the time of the ground clearance adjustment. |
