PURPOSE:To ensure the free switching between the spiral motion and the shift toward the radius of a magnetic head, by securing the free rotation for a shaft which is connected to a feeding screw shaft of the magnetic head and at the same time adding a brake member. CONSTITUTION:In an access operation, a rotary drum 32, screw gears 13 and 15 plus a screw shaft 14 are all turned synchronously by an access motor 86. A motor 36 stops when a magnetic head 3 reaches a prescribed position, and this position is held to complete an access action. In the recording/reproduction mode, a turntable brake 28 is detached by a solenoid 23, and a turntable 11 turns synchronously with a drive motor 20. On the other hand, a brake pad 41 of an access brake member 37 is press-fixed to a table 32 as soon as the slide of the member 28, and an access mechanism is locked. As a result, the shaft 14 is turned with the rotation of the table 11, and the head 3 has a sprial motion to perform the normal recording/ reproduction action. |
