The mechanism is intended for distributing silage or the like from a block (1) held (on prongs 4) in a frame (7). It comprises a number of motor (17)-driven (12-16) reversible rotors (9) each carrying tines (11) which move down onto the surface of the block and scrape silage from this in lateral direction (B). Each rotor comprises a (square-section) shaft (10) carrying sets of parallel radial, pref. resilient, tines (11). The tines of adjacent rotors are axially offset relative to one another whilst the parallel shafts (10) are spaced such that the tip circles (18) of adjacent rotors intersect.
