PURPOSE:To reduce the number of components of an A/D converter, by controlling a switch sequence and transferring a charge to a switched capacitor type intergrator from an input capacitor. CONSTITUTION:Switches 32, 35 turn on and an input capacitor 4 is charged with an input signal voltage V. When switches 38, 33 are turned on, the charge of the input capacitor 40 is transferred to an integration capacitor 8. Similarly, a reference voltage VR is trasferred. A comparator 5 detects the polarity of the value of V-VR to decide whether the most significant bit of a digital output is 1 or 0. When it is 1, 2(V-VR)-VR is stored in a switched capacitor type integrator 4, and when it is 0, the integrator 4 stored 2(V-VR)+VR, and thereafter, similarly the switch sequence is repeated to obtain up to required bit for digital output. |
