PURPOSE:To form a lithographic master plate which is excellent in adhesive properties and water resistance and capable of withstanding a large number of printing operations, by providing a picture receptive layer on a carrier through an intermediate layer containing a polyvalent metallic compound and a copolymer particle. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate layer is formed containing a mixture of 82-99.8 parts by weight of a copolymer (A) consisting of 2-10wt% an ethylene unsaturated acid (example: monoesterified substance of acrylic acid or itaconic acid) (a) 98- 90wt% another vinyl monomer (example: an acrylic acid alkyl ester) (b) and 18- 0.2 parts by weight of a polyvalent metallic compound (example: zinc oxide or aluminum hydroxide). In other words, on a carrier, the aqueous dispersion of said mixture (pH: approximately 5 or more) is applied and dried to form an intermediate layer of coating amount on the order of 5-20g/m<2>, and moreover, a picture receptive layer is formed thereon to obtain the titled master plate. |
