<p>The implement breaks uo lumps of earth, and comprises a hollow roller whose cylindrical surface is formed by bars (2) constituting a cage. One or more discs (6) move freely inside the cage, so that any lumps of earth penetrating the latter via the bars are broken up by them. There can be a large number of discs turning freely on a shaft (7) not attached to the cage roller, so that if one is jammed by a stone, the operation of the others is unaffected. The discs can have peripheral teeth aiding the disintegration of earth lumps.</p> |
