The rotary bottle filling machine has a ring of filling members above a ring of lifting members (37) on a rotary turntable between an upper plate and a lower plate (12). An extraction device is used to enable the lifting and filling members to be removed for repair, maintenance, or cleaning. This extractor has a curved horizontal plate (45) which enables a set of e.g. three operating members (33) inside a chamber formed by the base of the machine to be extracted at the same time. The plate is supported between two vertical spindles (46) on adjustable feet (48) resting on the baseplate (11) of the machine and is used at a position away from the bottle loading and unloading position. The plate is moved downwards by a handle mounted on the outside, to move the operating rollers (36) on the lower operating members downwards for extraction.
