New compound with an antiepileptic and anticonvulsive action

A pivaloyloxymethyl 2-propylpentanoate with formula I is described. This new compound is prepared by reacting 2- propylpentanoic acid with chloromethyl pivalate and isolating the resulting pivaloyloxymethyl 2- propylpentanoate from the reaction mixture. Pharmaceutical preparations containing an effective amount of the compound with formula I are described.
