PURPOSE:To give thrust toward the outlet side of an ingot to molten metal, prevent the leakage to backward of a pouring nozzle and improve the working efficiency of a casting machine by providing moving magnetic field generating coils on the rear side of the treads of endless tracks enclosing the nozzle. CONSTITUTION:Moving magnetic field coils C1, C2 are provided in proximity to the rear side of the treads of upper, lower endless tracks 5, 5 opposing to the leading end 4' of a pouring nozzle 4. The moving magnetic field coils similar to those mentioned above are also provided to the rear side of the right and left endless tracks of the nozzle 4. Next, low frequency exciting electric current is applied to the upper, lower, right and left coils C1, C2 to generate the moving magnetic fields toward the outlet side of an ingot 9. Then, thrust F acts upon the molten steel 1 in a mold, and the molten steel 1 trying to enter the clearances between the outside circumference of the leading end 4' of the nozzle 4 and the endless tracks 5, 5 and the right and left endless tracks is pushed back into the mold by the thrust F, and the clearance are retained as spaces, so that a solidified shell 6 is formed without sticking of the molten steel to the leading end 4' of the nozzle. |
