The road vehicle trailer is for transporting motorcycles. It has two or more fixed channel-section stand rails on its chassis extending in the lengthwise direction onto which the motorcycles are ridden and secured in the upright position. A channel-section ramp rail is mounted at the rear end of each stand rail to allow loading and unloading, and is locked in the swung-up position for travelling. A cross-beam (19) forming a slide rail is mounted at the rear end of the chassis (10) and extends below the ends of the stand rails (14,15). A slide (24) is fixed to the underside of the ramp rail (23) and engages permanently with the cross-beam, it and the ramp rail hinging upwards about the axis of the latter and are lockable to the chassis in the uppermost position.
