PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new pharmaceutical preparation exhibiting low density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor expression-promoting action.SOLUTION: A low density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor expression-promoting agent is characterized by containing one or more kinds of compounds selected from the group consisting of certain resveratrol dimers and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. A LDL cholesterol elevation-suppressing agent or a LDL cholesterol-lowering agent and a cholesterol metabolism-promoting agent are characterized by containing one or more kinds of compounds selected from the group consisting of resveratrol dimers represented by a specific formula and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
