NEW MATERIAL:The titled compound of formula 1 (R<1> is H, alkyl, alkoxy; R<2> is H, alkyl, aralkyl; R<3> is H, carboxyl-protecting group; A is alkylene), their pharmacologically permissible salts and compounds of formula 2 (R<1>' is H, alkyl; R<3>' is carboxyl-protecting group). EXAMPLE:2-(Carbamoylmethylthio)penem-3-carboxylic acid. USE:Antibacterial and its synthetic intermediate: they are effective against a wide range of pahtogenic bacteria including gram-positive and -negative bacteria. PREPARATION:For example, the compound of formula 5 (Y is halogen) is cyclized in the presence of a base to give the compound of formula 2. Then, the compound is made to react with the compound of formula 3 to form the compound 4 and, when needed, the protecting groups are removed to give the compound of formula 1. |
