The turbine utilising alternating flows, e.g. wave and tidal motion, has fixed blades positioned to allow the turbine to rotate in a single direction about its axis, without it having to be inverted when the flow direction changes. Pref. the turbine (H) is submerged several metres below the water surface and is attached to a flow or a boat, causing it to be displaced vertically due to wave motion. The turbine (H) has two sets of blades positioned one above the other and separated by a circular plate dividing the turbine into two halves. The blades are enclosed on the opposite side by two plates having inlet openings allowing the sets of blades to be used in alternation as the turbine moves up and down respectively.
|
