The folding chair system is for stands (13) of seats, some of which can be folded away if not required. The system incorporates at least one arm-chair (12a) with rigid frame (14), back rest (15) and seat (17) hinged on a horizontal axle (18). Two parallel front legs (20) are on each side of the chair, and at least two uprights form the back legs (21), the buttoms of which are hinged to a base (22), and the tops of which are hinged to the frame (14). Stop-pieces (23) are positioned between the frame and the uprights.
