<p>The cable head includes a number of modular connection units, the insulating base of which bears rear and front connection members (11,12) and one earthing component (14). The cable head includes in addition, for each connection unit, at least one protection module (4) which can be plugged into the base from the front. The module consists essentially of a body (6) of insulating material exhibiting two side-housings 7 intended for receiving lightning arrester (8) and of two pairs of wrap-around contact components (9,10) round type arranged on the body. These achieve contact between the front and rear connection members arranged face to face and the contact with earth. Each pair of contact components are associated with a lightning arrester ensuring at one and the same time, the retention of the lightning arrester in its housing and reinforcement of the clamping onto the tails of the lightning arrester upon plugging in the module.</p> |
