The garlic-harvesting machine automatically pulls the plants, shakes the earth off the roots and ties them into bundles, in a single pass. It has an elevator conveyor, whose rising and descending runs (4,5) are not at the same level, in order to reduce the dimensions. A lifting attachment (2,3) can be provided for any flattened stems, so that they can be more easily gripped. The elevator conveyor can be arranged to deliver to a second horizontal transverse conveyor supplying the bundling mechanism.
