<p>PURPOSE:To methane-ferment an org. waste water discharged from the kraft pulp factory under a high load at the time of treating the waste water by the upward-flow anaerobic sludge bed process by preventing the lowering of pH in a reaction system and the resulting lowering of methane fermentation efficiency and continuing the desired treatment under a high org. matter load. CONSTITUTION:The kraft pulp waste water is treated by the upward-flow anaerobic sludge bed process. In this case, the sulfur component in the methanol- contg. waste water from the pulp cooking stage is removed, the waste water is mixed with a machine-based waste water contg. high molecular carbohydrates, the mixture is supplied to a methane fermentation reactor, and the pH in the reactor is controlled to 6-8. The waste water is methane-fermented in this way.</p> |
