<p>The dish washer (10) contains a basket (12) for holding the dirty crockery below which is a spray unit (13) fed with the washing liquid (15) from a sump (14) by a circulating pump. At the side of the sump (14), is an emptying pump (16) whose outlet pressure nozzle (17) leads to a discharge pipe (20) after passing through a filter (18) and waste removal section (19) ending in a swan neck delivery hose (21). During the pre-wash, rinse etc programme, the sump container (14) fills with fresh washing fluid, and to prevent coarse particles of food from being resprayed onto the crockery, a mesh (22) is provided in the sump (11) to catch the remains. The emptying pump (16) operates several times during the washing programme, and since some dirty water flows back into the sump by gravity when the pump (16) stops, a filter is provided formed from a number of rings of varying diameter. These rings separate under the pump pressure, but form very small gaps between one another when the pump stops, allowing water to flow back to the sump, but not particles of debris.</p> |
