Pre-oxidized acid is treated with dialkylphosphoric acid dissolved in nonreacitive solvents, esp.the org. slovents which are composed of di(2-ethylhexy1)phosphoric acid and trialkylphosphine oxide or trioctylphosphine oxide, to give uranium-free phosphoric acid. This acid is treated with the org. exts. contg. most of uranium and uranium is treated with NH4OH and (NH4)2CO3 to give ammonium uranyltricarbonate which is sepd. from the exts. Then, uranium is recovered from the recycling of exts. of uranium-free solvent.
